About Loggers Lake

Deep in the National Forest in Shannon County, Loggers Lake is a fisherman's delight. Built in 1942 on Mill Creek, the 24-acre lake offers a quiet destination for non-motorized boat and bank fishing, without all the noise and crowds of larger lakes. This spring fed lake is also maintained as a fishery. Smallmouth bass, catfish and sunfish are popular species at this lake. A barrier-free fishing pier is also available.

Situated on the southeast shore of Loggers Lake, the campground offers 14 primitive sites, most offering a view of the lake. Each site offers a table, fire ring, tent pad and lantern post. Vault toilets and drinking water are centrally located, and typically available from April thru October. A campground host is also usually available during this time.

The day-use area offers a small swimming beach, a boat launch ramp, picnic sites and a separate vault toilet. No lifeguard is on duty at the swimming beach.

A short 1 mile hiking trail circles the lake, with a short spur leading to the spring that feeds the lake.
