Details & Directions

This wonderful little waterfall is located just north of the Richland Creek Wilderness, in a steep but absolutely beautiful little side canyon. Until recently, there had been many wonderful dogwoods growing around this waterfall, but one day, some idiot came in and cut down many of the doogwoods. The trees will eventually grow back some day, but some people will never grow up! There are still some very pretty dogwoods in the surrounding woods nearby, and the journey to see this waterfall is definitely still worth the trip!

To get here, from AR Scenic Hwy 7, head North/East on AR Hwy 123 out of Lurton (located 6.8 miles south of Cowell, or 4.1 miles north of Pelsor/Sand Gap). Go 1.5 miles and Turn Right onto CR# 36/FR# 1200/Lurton Assemblies of God Church Rd (paved, then gravel). Go approx 6.8 miles, then Continue Straight/Turn Right onto CR# 37/FR# 1205. Go approx 1.1 miles and Park where you can on the left side of the road, underneath a powerline over the road. If you come to a driveway/set of mailboxes, you have gone about 0.2 mile too far.)

You can also get here from Richland Creek Campground. Just travel North from the campground along FR# 1205 approx. 7 miles (0.4 miles past Iceledo Gap/turnoff to Hill Cemetery)

Head off into the woods to your Left (or Right if coming from the campground), under the powerline, and down the hill. There is no trail, so you will just have to bushwack the best you can down the steep hillside. Once you reach the bottom of the hill, Turn Right and follow the creek downstream to the top of the waterfall at approx. 0.6.
