You normally don't think of finding waterfalls on top of a mountain, but there are two atop the highest point in Arkansas, Mt Magazine.

To get to Mt Magazine Falls, turn into the park from AR Hwy 309, then follow the road through the park until you come to the Cameron Bluff Overlook Drive (One-Way). Drive around until you come to the last pulloff, and park here. This is a bushwack, so just head out into the woods and down the hill to the right of the parking area, passing by a bluff, until you come to the creek, then simply follow it downstream about 100 yds or so to the falls.

Details & Directions

You normally don't think of finding waterfalls on top of a mountain, but there are two atop the highest point in Arkansas, Mt Magazine.

To get to Mt Magazine Cascade, turn into the park from AR Hwy 309, then follow the road all the way to the back of the park, until you see the sign for the Brown Springs Picnic Area. Turn in here and park at the back of the picnic area. Take the mostly level trail until you come to a small creek at around ½ mile. The cascade will be just down on your right, and the waters to this cascade tumble down the mountain and out of sight. Save this one for after periods of prolonged rain.
