Zone 2 Fly Fishing Area
Bennett Spring State Park Fishing & Canoe Rentals

Fishing

From March 1st thru October 31st, anglers descend upon Bennett Spring State Park for one reason - trout! As one of four Missouri trout parks managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation, rainbow trout are abundant here in the spring, as well as the nearby Niangua River, into which the spring branch flows. Brown trout are also found here as well, and both are good eating!

The park's fishing area is divided into 3 zones, with each zone having separate regulations as to the type of lures/flies that can be used. Daily limit is four, and only one of those can be a brown trout of 15" length or longer. A state fishing license, as well as trout tags, are required for trout fishing within the state of Missouri.

Canoe Rentals

The nearby Niangua River is a favorite Ozarks float stream for canoeing, kayaking, rafting, tubing, and of coarse, fishing. There are many local outfits that provide these services along the river, including shuttle services as well. One such place is located at the park, and offers canoe rentals for use on the nearby river.

The motel, cabins, dining lodge, park store, swimming pool and canoe rental are operated by outside management.
