    Description
  • The main feature of the park, this trail will take you to the runestone rock itself, which is now housed in a protective shelter. Some folks believe that the markings on this rock were inscribed by the Vikings, centuries before Columbus discovered America. The trail itself is not very long, but there are a number of steps down into the valley and back out where the runestone is located. Interpretive and information signs are located at the shelter, explaining the different meanings of the runestone.
